Lauren Greenfield
Lauren Greenfield is the author/ photographer of two critically acclaimed books, Girl Culture and Fast Forward: Growing Up in the Shadow of
Hollywood. Large-scale exhibitions of Girl Culture are touring museums and galleries throughout the United States and Europe through 2006 and
have been seen by more than 300,000 viewers to date in venues that include the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Skirball Museum in Los Angeles, and
the Pace/MacGill Gallery in New York. Greenfield's work appears regularly in magazines such as The New York Times Magazine, Time, Harper's, Elle
and is in many collections, including the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Los Angeles County Museum, the International Center of Photography,
and the French Ministry of Culture. American Photo recently named Greenfield one of the 25 most influential photographers working today.
Her photography has been honored by awards and grants, including the ICP Infinity Award, the Hasselblad Foundation Grant, the Nikon Sabbatical
Grant, and the National Press Photographers' Community Awareness Award. Her latest work examines the lives of anorexic women, which is the subject
of an HBO documentary ("Thin") which she directed and a book, both of which will be released in 2006.
