Lexar JumpDrive FireFly and JumpDrive 1GB Secure II Product Recall Lexar has identified a potential issue in JumpDrive FireFly products sold between April 1 and May 31, 2006. in the following capacities: 256MB, 512MB, 1GB and 2GB and JumpDrive Secure II 1GB products sold at Fry's in the U.S. between May 16 and May 31, 2006. We are recalling these products in cooperation with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission and following the consumer safety guidelines. Certain configurations of these products have a potential to overheat, creating a potential risk of injury and property damage. The potential for the products to overheat was identified by Lexar during testing; no reports of overheating during use have been reported. All affected products shipped to retailers have been returned to Lexar and most retail stores have already received replacement products and are actively selling them. We are providing you with two options in this recall. The first option is for you to choose another model JumpDrive of the same capacity to replace your existing JumpDrive. The second option is for you to choose the same JumpDrive model. The second option will take up to 2 weeks to fulfill. The Lexar logo is embossed in the front of the plastic housing with the capacity marked on the back. The 1GB JumpDriveŽ Secure II affected by this recall have the marking JDSE1GB-00-500 Rev H and 3052-1GBA- 2006 or 3052-1GBA-2106 or 3052-1GBA-1906 or 3052-1GBA-1806 on the back located underneath the capacity which is 1GB.
