A: FireWire 800 doubles the throughput of the original FireWire 400 interface with transfer speeds up to 800 Mb/sec.

Q: Are the connections / ports the same for the FireWire 400 and FireWire 800?
A: FireWire 400 devices use a 6-pin or 4-pin connector while FireWire 800 devices use a 9-pin connector. Existing FireWire 400 devices can be plugged into either type of port with the appropriate cable. FireWire 800 devices can achieve FireWire 800 speeds only when connected directly to a FireWire 800 port.

Q: Will my older Lexar 40x 512MB CompactFlash card work in my new Lexar Professional UDMA FireWire 800 Reader?
A: Yes, the reader is backwards compatible to the older generation of Lexar CF cards.

Q: What is the difference between a UDMA CF card and a standard CF cards?
